Description

Harvard trained archaeologist, Kimberley Connors-Hughes directs programs stressing art, primary sources, scientific method and cultural appreciation. After transforming your school or museum to an excavation site she directs "mock excavations," ancient art projects or programs on everyday life in ancient cultures. These programs answer the question How do we know, what we know about past times. These programs are designed to align with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for art, social studies, and science . Teacher professional development reaches beyond the basics of culture, integrating archaeology with art, language, math, and science. Available for hands-on in-service or off-site programs, possible titles include: Native American Culture, Colonial Artifacts, Ancient Egypt and Nubia, & Material Culture of the Indus Valley
