Description
From single-session to multi-year partnerships, Troubadour artist-educators work with teachers of grades pre-K-12 and administrators to design Literacy through the Art of Writing and Song programs that meet specific school needs and objectives. All Troubadour Program activities and curriculum resources support teachers within the Reading/Writing Workshop model.
Students participating in the Troubadour Program:
• strengthen their skills for communications and creative self-expression by developing facility with close observation, structure, form, figurative language, symbolic and metaphoric thinking, rhythmic patterns, and expanded vocabulary
• learn to appreciate many voices and styles from diverse cultures
• engage in activities corresponding to the Massachusetts English Language Arts and Art Frameworks that focus on reading, understanding, discussion, writing and performing.
